YOUNGSTOWN Holiday Parade 2009
for more then 15 years the City of Youngstown has passed on Holiday Parade in Downtown Youngstown . This year we are hoping to revive the Holiday Parade and showcase the beauty and development that has been accomplished in the past 15 years while reviving a tradition of community celebration in the City of Youngstown.
Parade Rules are as follows:
1. Registration will open at 1:30pm. Parade route numbers will be given at the registration tent which will located on East Federal at Andrews Avenue. The number assigned to your entry must be displayed on the left side of the unit, so the judges and announcers can identify the entry correctly.
2. There will only be one live Santa Claus and he will be sanctioned by the Parade Committee.
3. All entries must be clean and be decorated in accordance with the theme of the parade. Parade officials will inspect all entries and reserve the right to eliminate any entry that is in violation of these rules.
4. Music is limited to Holiday Music. We welcome School Bands, Choirs, and Christmas Carolers.
5. Line-up will begin at 2:15pm and parade will step-off at 3:00pm.
6. The parade will begin at East Federal and Andrews Avenue. Proceed west on East Federal to Central Square, turning left onto Market Street then left onto Front Street, ending at the Covelli Centre.
7. The parade participants must abide by the ordinances, laws and regulations of the City of Youngstown.
8. Consumption of alcoholic beverages / drugs by anyone is prohibited by law.
9. Distribution of any form of literature, soliciting, or canvassing for funds are prohibited. The only kind of item that may be distributed is candy or treats.
10. NOTHING MAY BE THROWN FROM MOVING ENTRIES BY ORDER OF THE YOUNGSTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT. Candy, treats, etc., may only be distributed by someone walking with the entry and staying close to the curb.
11. Each equestrian / animal unit must provide their own “scoopers” and must use them. Units without scoopers will not be allowed to participate.
